6th Grade English/Language Arts

English/Language Arts at Buchanan Middle School covers Michigan's State Standards In Reading, Writing, Listening, Speaking, Listening and Language.

Assignments will be based on the Prentice Hall Literature Timeless Voices Timeless Themes Copper Edition 6th grade textbook and Amplify ELA.

Second Marking Period Expectations

Homework Policy:

Any homework Is due to student not using their time In class productively.
Please look on your student's Power School (Gradebook) and Google Classroom weekly for assignments.

About me

I grew up on an apple farm in Bertrand Township, my parents still have their apple market on US 12 called D&S Apple House
I graduated from Buchanan High School in 1999
My children attend Buchanan Community Schools
I graduated with distinction in 2005 earning a Bachelor of Science in English Education from Indiana University South Bend
I have 4 dogs, 2 Papillons Buzz and Leah and 2 Vizslas named Banner and Lenny
My favorite vacation is camping at Mears State Park in Pentwater, MI every summer (see the beautiful sunset)
I'm excited to be your Language Arts teacher and look forward to our year of learning!
I taught at Ring Lardner Middle School In Niles, MI for four years before teaching at Buchanan Middle School
